Dearest Cricket Finland Community,
We have been making massive steps collectively in developing the game here in Finland as a passionate group of cricket lovers. Thank you for the support!
So much so, after a lot of planning, meetings and collaboration we finally now can enjoy together our newest permanent pitch installation.
HOWEVER, in order to get maximum opportunity to gain access / usage to this PUBLIC FACILITY in the future after SM-Viikko, we need to show the local council how passionate we are and showcase this at SM-Viikko this weekend. Its a great opportunity for us before they make these decisions.
LETS SHOW THEM OUR PASSION FOR THE GREAT GAME! Like back home in all our respective countries Finland, India, Nepal, New Zealand, Sri-Lanka, Pakistan, West Indies, Bangladesh, South Africa, Australia, Afghanistan and England to name a few.
Let’s get our club team mates, families, friends to come and support the SM-Viikko event especially on SUNDAY JULY THE 8th @1530-1700, WHEN YLE WILL BE FILMING LIVE!!!!!!! IT’S OUR CHANCE TO SHINE AS ONE! ITS OUR CHANCE TO SHINE AS ONE! So let’s make some noise and show what it means to our cricketing community and that we mean business!

Further to our request for club player nominations for the first ever Cricket Finland T20 Elite League (see original post details here), we received 45 player nominations for the remaining 26 places up for grabs. Thanks to all the clubs that sent nominations through!
Tournament selectors Andrew Armitage (NT manager), Nathan Collins (NT skipper), Yasir Quadir (NT coach) & Maneesh Chauhan (national U21 coach & NT player) reviewed at length the nominations, asked in some cases for more information and studied in detail statistics from recent seasons before coming up with their final decisions for the 3 squads.
Congratulations to those selected and commiserations to those that missed out this time. We will still be keeping a close eye on performances during the season, so don't give up hope and keep training hard to impress later in the year. For those selected, we will be in touch personally to confirm your availability for the 3 dates. In the interim please make sure you have read through the original Elite tournament post above.
To all Club Contacts, Players, Partners and friends of cricket,
