Cricket Camp this summer!

Cricket Camp time is fast approaching!

Is there anything better than playing cricket on grass on sunny summer's day?!

Enroll your child in our Cricket Camp, we have extended the enrollment date till June 3rd. The Camp runs from June 13 through June 17 at Kerava National Cricket Ground. Don't miss out!

Club Development Forum on September 26

Want to help make your club function even better? Then the CLUB DEVELOPMENT FORUM 2015 is the place to be.

Date: Saturday 26th September.
Time: 10am to 4pm.
Venue: KNCG Pavilion, Kerava

Topics to be discussed are among others: running and developing an ‘ry’ cricket club, AGMs & Committees, Accounts and Membership Fees, Ground Bookings and Wicket Maintenance, Developing an Umpiring and Coaching Capacity, Internal and External Communications. Supporting Junior Development. Hoping to have two representatives per club.

Your club main contact has received more information on the Forum so please contact him. The names of participants must be sent to the FCA committee secretary by Monday 31st of August.

Cricket Camp for Juniors and Youth in June!

If you are between 8 and 18 years and interested in cricket - or in learning cricket - now is the time to book your place at Cricket Finland's summer camp. Kerava National Cricket Ground is the venue for our camps - divided into two age groups - on June 8-12.

The five camp days each consist of five hours of coaching, playing and training. Equipment and a light lunch is included in the camp fee of EUR80/person.

Cricket is great for schools

Street20 - or katukriketti, to give it its Finnish name in Finland - is a quick and fast form of cricket that the Finnish Cricket Association is happy to come and demonstrate in schools, as it's perfectly suited for school use.

Another easy way to learn more about Street20 is the Ball Sports Expo at Messukeskus, Expo and Convention Centre Helsinki, on March 6-8. On Friday, March 6, the Expo is open for schools only from 9 a.m. through noon. From noon onwards and until Sunday evening the Expo is open to anyone who is interested in ball sports. Come and try your hand at batting and bowling - and catch some highlights from the ongoing Cricket World Cup!

On Sundays from February to the end of April there's Junior Cricket for boys and girls aged 8-12 years at Katajanokan liikuntahalli. Come and get to know a sport that is growing rapidly in Finland or improve your skills if you've played cricket before!

Junior Cricket on Sundays

This autumn the FCA offers Junior Cricket for boys and girls aged 8 to 12 years. Kids can learn cricket - and/or improve their game - at Katajanokan Liikuntahalli (Merikasarminkatu 1, central Helsinki) from 10 a.m. till noon on Sundays.

Coaching sessions begin on Sunday September 28 and go on until Christmas (December 21 is the final session before the holidays). If a minimum of 10 juniors sign up, sessions continue until the end of April in 2015.

Coaching language: English & Finnish
Cost: EUR95 (subject to numbers)

Finnish Cricket Week in June

From June 6 through June 13 this year we will celebrate the first ever Finnish Cricket Week. Kerava National Cricket Ground will witness a whole host of cricket action and festivities – from international games and touring parties to youth development events.
