CricHQ Scorers' Course

For the 2016 season Cricket Finland are once again proud to utilise CricHQ as our partner in scoring all Cricket Finland matches and administering our club.

In order to best prepare our clubs for the upcoming season Cricket Finland will be offering an online course through Skype for all those interested in learning to score with CricHQ, but also for those who want to learn more.

Items we will be covering will include:

Pre-match preparation
Post-match administration
Scoring a match

Make sure your club is fully on top of CricHQ and make the coming season be all about the cricket.

Want to help make your club function even better? Then the CLUB DEVELOPMENT FORUM 2015 is the place to be.

Date: Saturday 26th September.
Time: 10am to 4pm.
Venue: KNCG Pavilion, Kerava

Topics to be discussed are among others: running and developing an ‘ry’ cricket club, AGMs & Committees, Accounts and Membership Fees, Ground Bookings and Wicket Maintenance, Developing an Umpiring and Coaching Capacity, Internal and External Communications. Supporting Junior Development. Hoping to have two representatives per club.

Your club main contact has received more information on the Forum so please contact him. The names of participants must be sent to the FCA committee secretary by Monday 31st of August.

CF gets first full-time employee: Aniketh Pusthay

Since last week, Cricket Finland has a first full-time employee. Aniketh Pusthay now works at the Cricket Finland office in Pasila on a 10-month contract. His main role will be to assist in running the cricket office administration as well as marketing Finnish cricket and contributing to social media content. A further area of focus is the junior Street20 cricket programme in Finland.

Aniketh is originally from the city of Hyderabad in southern India and he holds a BA in English Literature from the Periyar University. He has lived in Finland since 2012 and already speaks a competent level of Finnish. He has been one of our most active junior coaches since the summer of 2013.

Reminder: Clubs must have generic e-mail by February

Communication with member clubs from latest 31.01.2015 onwards

Due to continuous problems in ensuring that the FCA information reaches all member clubs, the FCA Board has decided that starting 2015 general information to members will no longer be sent the personal email addresses of club representatives. This issue was met with approval at the recent Club Development Forum.

In the future all general information (for example announcements of rules, invitations to events or meetings etc) will only be sent to club "generic email addresses". A generic email address is of the type "lahtiCC@gmail.com” or “PoriCCcontact@hotmail.com”. Some of the member clubs already have this kind of generic email and they do not need to create a new one; for these clubs please just re-confirm the generic email for general contact that will continue to be used.

Those clubs that have up to now used the personal email address of for example their chairman or secretary, must create a generic email account (address) and inform the FCA Board secretary via email to secretary@cricketfinland.com of this new address by latest the end of January 2015.

It is then up to the clubs to ensure that someone checks the mail sent to this address on a regular (we suggest weekly) basis and then makes sure the mail is forwarded to the correct person/s in the club for action.
