Cricket Finland is delighted to announce the appointment of Sriharsha Kuchimanchi as our first ever contracted umpire from July 24th until the last day of the season on October 1st. In addition to being ex-chairman of Shaurya CC, a pro-active umpire in Finland for some years and during SM-viikko 2016, then passing his ICC Level 1 course in Finland last year, Sriharsha has since stood in over 40 Hyderabad corporate league T20 matches during March to May back in India to gain more experience. The main aims for Sriharsha will be to stand in as many league and national team games as possible, with a clear focus on the closing stages of the T20 competition and the divisions 1 & 2 of SM40. Sriharsha will also have the task to educate our resident umpires and help improve their field-craft, while standing with a more experienced partner. LSC/Aadhavan will be tasked with the coordination and practicalities related to ensuring the above is a success and that in as many cases as possible the umpires that stand with Harsha are the ones that really want to develop as umpires. The appointment is an important step in improving umpiring standards in Finland and we wish Harsha a warm welcome back! | |
