FCA Indoor Rules and Regulations, 2015 update
Rule Changes
For the coming season, there have been no major rule changes to the indoor format nor to the bonus points structure. Attached the regulations for the league. Only change is a minor one regarding dead-ball situations if the ball goes passed the advertising hoardings which touch the floor. The rule is intended to clarify what was already standard practice. Just for information a short description is that the if the ball goes passed and stays behind the advertising hoardings and a run is attempted before it goes passed and stays behind the hoardings, the ball is still in play, meaning a run out is still possible. After the run is completed the ball will be called 'Dead' by the umpires.
Umpires please consult with each other if in doubt. And trust your judgement.
We have the old Floorball (salibandy) hall from 8-11pm, so 3 games a night and we are back to 5 ball overs. It is therefore important that all stick to their time slots. Umpires will be enforcing strict timing regulations.
Payment
This years costs are the same as before, €30/team/match, so for 10 matches per team €300. Invoices for the competition will be issued in December with a February deadline. Clubs are encouraged to pay up as soon as possible!
CricHQ
For the coming season, scoring will be provided for by CricHQ with each club responsible for scoring their innings. As was the case during the outdoor season, scoring with CricHQ is required. I ask the Home Team for each match to have a device on hand for scoring purposes. The Deadline for submission of the scorecards to the CricHQ server will be Monday 23:59. This is the Monday after the weekend of the Friday match. So the scorecard for December 4th, this evening should be uploaded by December 7th 2016 23:59. I have utmost confidence that you guys will do your best. It would be cool if we can hand out some great awards during the awards evening for the top performers based on accurate info.
Match balls
The LSC will make sure that all Clubs are provided with their match balls for the indoor league. The ball you are provided at the beginning season shall be used for the whole season. So please keep it safe. If you should lose the ball, please contact the LSC right away through Shaun and a replacement will be provided at cost.
LSC Member on Call

There are exactly three (3 hours) to get the matches completed, so keep those over rates high, do the toss 15 minutes before scheduled start time and batsmen be ready as soon as you need to go in.
The venue is the same as previous years, Merihaan Pallohalli in Helsinki, but we have a different hall this year. We will be playing in the hall with the badminton courts, to the left when you come out of the changing rooms towards the salibandy hall we have played in previous years.
· Our equipment box will however still be in the salibandy hall, same lock combination as before: 1848 (WG Grace's year of birth). The equipment for today's matches will be brought to the hall today by Empire players. After tonight's game it will need to be put away, please select an unused box (one with hinges and locking clasp intact).
· The equipment includes:
· The main difference this year is that as we have 2,5 hours to play two matches as opposed to 3 hours for 3 matches last year, we will attempt to play 6 ball overs. To make this possible it is of utmost importance that time is not wasted and schedules are adhered to:
· Booking starts 20:30: both teams set up the pitch together BEFORE WARM-UP + PRACTICE! Pitch has to be ready for a 20:40 start
* It is the responsibility of all players to make sure time is not wasted.
* I remind you all that umpires may award 5 run penalties for time wasting, for which the threshold will by necessity be very low. This means that a team may suffer penalty runs e.g. if the incoming batsman is not ready immediately at a fall of a wicket, or a fielding team takes too long deliberating fielder placements etc.
* If an innings is not completed within the allocated time frame, it will cease immediately and run rate calculations may have to be applied. And if a team is deemed responsible (due to deliberate time wasting, negligence or blatant disregard) for an innings not being completed, sanctions may result (match bans, league point penalties). Captains are responsible for their teams adherence to the schedule. Umpires are to remind players to get on with it as necessary, and to report to the LSC anything that needs to be reported.
* Anyone out roofing the ball shall be recorded out as ‘hit wicket’. The same as previous years.
* New this year is that all player profiles on CricHQ must include a passport type head shot photo from which the player may be clearly and reliably identified. This practice, which will carry on in the summer leagues, is due to several cases and allegations of teams substituting ineligible players for named and eligible squad members in league matches.
* Scorecards must be downloaded onto the CricHQ database no later than Saturday midnight, i.e. teams have one day to correct any scorecard mistakes etc.
* Scorecard penalty points will be awarded as follows:
* Gerard Brady will be administering CricHQ on behalf of the LSC, so any questions related to this to him, please.
* Clothing: Correct clothing for indoor cricket is required of all players. Correct cloting is dark trousers and light shirts. Please note that jeans ARE NOT acceptable. Umpires will enforce the clothing rule.
* Teams will be invoiced competition fees by the FCA.

- Stumps + bails
- tape for crease markings
- tape measure
- Competition folder (with rules, contact lists, pitch dimensions, fixture list etc.). Note: the Indoor league rules in the folder is a draft version, is being updated.
- Though matches are to be scored using CricHQ app, the folder also contains blank paper scorecards. These are only as last resort backup if technology let's us down, they are not an on offer as an alternative to CricHQ!

Player profiles
We would like each team to have player profiles updated to include a passport-type picture of each player in the team in CricHQ to make identification easier. A passport-type picture includes a front-facing, head-shoulder photo, without sunglasses, caps, scarves or headwear. Because the tournament is about to start we have decided to delay the implementation of this. Every team in the indoor league, however, must have a passport type pictures for each player profile by January 1st 2015.
PENALTY NOTE: Failure to have a picture for a player profile will result in a one-point penalty for each player without a picture for the match played (i.e. if you have 6 players in a match and 2 do not have pictures, it will result in a 2-point penalty).
