Cricket in Finland
The first game of cricket in Finland was probably played around the Helsinki Olympics in the early 1952's. We know for certain that cricket was played in Töölö in Helsinki in 1953 and that these early games were mostly connected to embassies in Helsinki.
Club cricket in Finland started evolving more coherently in the 1990's and the Finnish Cricket Association (FCA) was founded in 1999.
Finland is an Associate Member of the International Cricket Council (ICC).
At present both the number of players and the number of competitive games played is growing strong. There are more than 500 officially SUOMISPORT licensed cricketers in Finland.
