All club main contacts/club emails have received the below Club Development Forum 2016 reports today from CF's club development officer Jo Hadley.
Particularly for those that were NOT able to attend and for the attention of all those that did, please take an immediate look at the 1st page ‘Must Do (PRH) Actions 2017’ document below. This is important for reasons that should be obvious when reading it. Discuss it with your current committee and those you expect to be your club’s committee for 2017 (if not the same). If you and your club plan to play in SM Championship leagues in 2018, then there are actions to be done this spring...
Please, however, take time to read the FULL report. It is designed to assist in understanding what is required and why, as well as acting as a reference document in the proper development of FCA member clubs as ‘ry’ associations. In particular, consider its content regarding your 2017 AGMs, Minutes and PRH Updates, as well as its coverage of discipline issues.
As with 2016, the the FCA will require copies of your clubs’ 2017 AGM Minutes by 15th April by email to the FCA secretary (see report about areas of improvements) and all clubs are expected to be represented at the FCA’s AGM in April (date TBA).
Also below are presentation slides shown at the Forum by Jo on club development themse and by Shaun concerning 2017 leagues & umpiring. Please do go through them all.
Fantastic news to proudly announce that Cricket Finland was nominated along with three other sports to represent the super SM-viikko 2016 team of 22 sports in being nominated for the sports marketing award of the year at the Urheilugaala event, to be shown live from Hartwall Arena on January 17th. We will be keeping fingers crossed until then!! Well done everyone :-)

For the coming season, we would like to announce that on the back of the success we had at the 2016 SM-Viikko last February, we will introduce the format to the indoor league as well. This means 2 more overs, 1 ball more per over, batting in pairs and we expect more excitement.
Though we will not have a caged net as we did in the SM-Viikko, we have been advised that the facility we will be using this year is adequate for the format. Matches will all be held at:
Location: Merihaka Palloiluhalli
Address: Haapaniemenkatu 14, 00530 Helsinki
The league will be held on Fridays from December 9 2016 to April 28 2017, with three matches per evening: 20:00 to 23:00.
Fees for the league will be €30 per match played with payment due before the league starts.
Please register your teams interest right away. First come, first served. Registration will be closed on Monday October 3 2016. Please send an email to: email@example.com to register.

The restaurant has a limited number of 200 places, which we are aiming to fill from all Finland’s cricket clubs!! This is a community event, so it is for everyone, not just the winners.
Please confirm your place to your club main contacts without delay to guarantee your seat! The FCA committee secretary HEIKKI needs the names of your club members attending by Monday 12th September, via email to SECRETARY@CRICKETFINLAND.COM from your club main contacts – places will be reserved on receipt of your confirmation and payment, so get there first! A single payment per club will be due by latest Monday 19th September (see details below); EARLIER PAYMENT WILL GUARANTEE YOUR PLACES IN THE FIRST 200. No personal emails please, only through your club main contacts.
Special payment offer – the evening price per person will be 15€, but for any club that registers more than 12 (twelve) names of members attending, then the cost will only be 10€ per person for all attending from that club. In other words, if your club only sends 10 people, then it will cost your club 150€; but if your club sends 15 people, then your club will still only pay 150€ in this case (20 people/club will cost 200€ and so on). And yes, club members can bring wives, girlfriends or other club social members included in this payment offer.
NOTE - Anyone who arrives on the night and who is not on the guest list will be charged 25€ entry fee.
So get your names down quick to save you money on a great night!
Yours in cricket,
Cricket Finland committee
A quick message to just highlight a couple of things based on questions I have been receiving.
With the season winding down I suspect most teams want to know where they stand and what it means if they win or lose their division. Just a refresher in terms of promotion and relegation in SM40.
For Division 1, the last place finisher automatically goes down to Division 2.
For Division 2, the first place finisher automatically goes up to Division 1. The last place finisher automatically goes down to Division 3.
For Division 3, the first place finisher goes up to Division 2.
All the above means there are NO promotion/relegation playoffs. Standings are determined first based on points, then net run rate.
It seems fall has come quite early to Finland with rain affecting quite a number of matches last weekend. I just wanted to send a message to remind teams about some practicalities.
1. Don't call off the games too early. Just because it is raining at the toss, doesn't mean that it will be raining later. For Division 1 and 2; you only need 2.5 hours for a match to be official and for Division 3 just 2 hours. This gives cutoff times of 14:30 for Division 1 and 2 and 13:30 for Division 3. Grounds dry very quickly when the sun is out, even KNCG takes only 45 minutes to dry with the sun.
2. Before abandoning a match, please consult with the LSC to get go ahead. This is to get an outsiders take on the weather situation and also so you have someone to talk to if the rules are unclear.
Umpires be on time
Just a reminder to your umpires. Please ensure they are at the ground at least 45 minutes before the match is scheduled to start. Reason being is that the umpire needs to inspect the ground before the match. The toss should occur at least 15 minutes before the scheduled match time.
Also do not forget to inform the LSC at least a day before the match who from your club is umpiring. This is necessary so that captain's reports can be filled out on CricHQ
Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions.
